Reply to "Bishop T.D. Jakes rebukes ‘Preachers of LA,’ calls it ‘junk’"

Quote by Koco from original article:

"Bishop T.D. Jakes, the senior pastor of The Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas calling it “junk.”

“Now, I know you been watching that junk on TV. I want to tell you right now, not one dime of what you’re sowing right now will buy my suit. I want you to know my car is paid for. ”I want you to know I got my house on my own. I want you to know I’m not bling-blinging. I am not shake and bake. I had money when I came to Dallas and I plan to have some when I leave,” he added.

“You did not buy what I got. I had it when I came here. You know I had it when I came here. The devil is a lie. I have sold enough books and produced enough movies. I don’t need your offering to pay for this little slimy suit. So I rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus Christ,”

I agree with T.D.Jakes, I have never seen the show nor plan to watch it because I also think it's probably junk too but....

I am also trying to understand T.D.Jakes main concern because the word he uses throughout his comments "buy" bother me.

Is it the fact these reality show "L.A. Preachers" agreed contractually to a nationally televised and popular TV reality show about preachers who are clearly and outwardly expressing themselves personally/financially with their lavish lifestyles and materialistically with possessions exposing what they have OR it is because T.D.Jakes thinks these guys are fakes,  aren't dedicated and don't "believe" in God and the Bible the same way he does?

T.D. Jakes says these preachers are both verbally and physically "bling-blinging" but T.D. Jakes, without opening his mouth or directly and outwardly, exposes his massive materialism which is leaps and bounds more than any of those preachers, is doing the exact same thing.

T.D. Jakes doesn't live in a typical 3 or 4 bedroom family home struggling to pay the monthly mortgage and bills, doesn't drive a fuel efficient car let alone having only two cars, wears cheap jewelry, a cheap watch or shops for "buy two and get one free" suits from the local "The Men's Warehouse" in Dallas, Texas.

That "little slimy suit and tie" he owns and talks about isn't cheap at all.

The homes of many ministers live in church bought transitional homes because they minister at their church and their annual salary is tax-free.

I researched and T.D. Jakes "personal net worth" is 18+ million dollars which is "outside" according to him, his expansive mega church and yes his many books, CD's, movies and other business ventures may have greatly contributed to his personal fortune but.... What is the difference between T.D, Jakes, those reality TV show L.A. preachers, Creflo Dollar (net worth 27 million dollars), Eddie Long (net worth 4 million dollars) and Joel Osteen (net worth 40 million dollars)?

I'll even go back as far back as deceased minister, Rev. Ike (Mr. $100 Prayer Cloth) whose ministry reached its peak in the mid 1970s, was also probably a multi-millionaire and IMO, was "bling blingin" HARD, braggin often and let everyone know it well before the term "bling bling" was even coined.

If ANY preacher was suited and tailor made for a reality TV show, it was Rev. Ike hands down.

T.D. Jakes rant and comments never says anything about their church ministry, their preaching, their congregation or love for the Bible and the Lord, only with anger, addressing their 'outwardly exposing themselves" materialistically and financially, as religious leaders.

And just like those L.A. Preachers, many of T.D. Jakes many members are struggling financially while he himself has no financial worries what so ever.

What's the difference between saying out loud what you have versus not saying out loud what you have but upon visual inspection, you can see the exact same thing or even more whether you brag about it or not as is the case of T.D. Jakes?

Are these L,A. preachers exposing too much "inside information" or too much game that makes T.D. Jakes uncomfortable?

"Suited and booted" wearing a $2500 suit complete with all the trimmings is still a $2500 suit with all the trimmings whether you as T.D. Jakes says "shake and bake" brag about it or not,

Is he worried about people (especially his members) finally taking a closer look at him and finally waking up?
