Sadly, this will probably be the third time in a row that this very question is the main/only reason I cast my vote for the Democratic nominee for president.
I voted for Bill Clinton because I really wanted to. Every vote since then as been because I had no choice.
You voted for BC because you "really wanted to" - yet he screwed and abused black people at every turn. What evidence do you have that BO will somehow be a worse president that him?
I didn't say I thought he would be a worse president! I said that I have no enthusiasm for voting for him ... and that I will be voting for him because I have to, not because I want to.
Don't get me wrong, MBM. IMO, Barack is a nice guy, and I don't dislike him, I would just rather have a different choice as far as voting for a president. While I know he would be better at running the country than any Republican would/could, especially at this point in time, I don't consider him the best or most qualified person for job. He's only the best person available, which is a different thing.
I also think that should he get the job, he will do an adequate job of it. He certainly can't be the worst president we've every had. He may also be an extraordinary president ... there's no way to tell, so, I'm not discounting that as a possibility, either. I just don't know.
On a personal level, for the type of person I would like as a president, though, I'm not happy with many aspects of his policy agenda - they just happen to be better than the alternative. I'm not thrilled with the way he's handled controversy - he's just better than the alternative. He's also made questionable decisions throughout his campaign. But, the other guy offers a less desirable choice.
When I voted for Bill Clinton, I didn't know he would *screw and abuse Black people at every turn* as you put it, just like when you vote for Obama in November, you don't know that he won't ultimately do the same. I do know life was happy and prosperous for me during that time, though. There was good things and bad things that came out it as a whole, I suppose.
