EXAMPLE OF HOW AFRICA IS THE WORLD'S 'WELFARE CHECK'

National Geographic Explorer Episode Highlights Congo Conflict Gold Smuggling

The full episode is available on iTunes, and to stream on National Geographic’s website using your cable provider information.

On May 29, a special episode of National Geographic Explorer, featuring Enough’s Founding Director John Prendergast and hosted by actor/activist Ted Danson, highlighted how armed groups, Congo’s army commanders, and corrupt officials profit from the deadly trade in conflict gold from eastern Congo.

In the episode, John discusses the conflict gold issue and how consumers, the U.S. government, and others can take action to ensure Congo’s gold does not fund the country’s ongoing conflict and corrupt leaders. While there has been significant progress in de-linking tin, tantalum, and tungsten from conflict in Congo, conflict gold remains a major source of income for elements of the Congolese armed forces, armed groups, and criminal networks.

"The Law

Section 1502 on conflict minerals of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act is a transparency measure, one part of a comprehensive approach to Congo’s challenges. Passed in 2010 and implemented by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2012, it creates a reporting requirement for all companies publicly traded in the United States with products containing any of the four conflict minerals."

Conflict free gold  or diamond or drug  or chocolate or oil or shoes or hardware  sourcing is hard to enforce. Crime is here to stay. Leaders don’t care about people – and people cannot unite.   The system is corrupt because humans are greed-blinded animals. I always say, start a project with 3 to 4 people. It could be a for profit business that helps others. It’s hard to get cooperation with 3 to 4 people.   That’s project enough.

IMHO, of course!

I whole-heartedly agree.

But the article, and so many I've read just like them, lets me know that if Africa could somehow close the continent off from the rest of the world, the entire world, especially all of "white supremacy" and imperialism, would go bankrupt, and Europe/the White race would be takeN back, once again, into the 'dark ages'.

I mean, what is the world, what does the world have if you subtract ALL African resources, all African intervention and influence historically, [which would mean subtracting knowlege of reading, writing, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, geometry, calculus, medicine, navigation, agriculture, music, spirituality, 'religon', philosophy, engineering, exploration,  CIVILIZATION  .  .  . ]?

That's a great title.  Africa and Africans are the world's welfare check.  They can not and could not LIVE with both.  I agree they would be entering the dark ages again.  But it is because of Africa....and African people they exist in the horrible way that they do.  However, now that we know....this is power.  So we should use this piece of knowledge to empower the rest of the black population that thinks we are subservient.....there's nothing SUB about us.  In fact, we are above reproach.  And because they can't understand us they are trying to destroy us.  But are UNABLE to do it.  So that's why they use us against us to help them out.  Cuz we are just too awesome for them and the only way they can REALLY get us?  Is with us....willingly participating.  Which is what we have done for over 200 years-being against each other.  If not, we would have back on top of the world......years ago.  But we are not.  So.  We really need to LOOK at our ourselves....and ask that million dollar question.  Otherwise, they will continue to steal our resources to keep getting rich....and while we continue scrapping the bottom of the barrel while everything that rightfully  belongs to us is at the top.  Information of our power is only useful WHEN WE APPLY IT to our culture.  Otherwise.....But!

State of mind is powerful and can be limiting. Cooperation makes sense. Humans don’t.

A core union of African states could work together to support all member states to take back sovereign control of their resources and renegotiate all deals for the cultural, financial and developmental benefits of each nation state and its citizens. When you own resources like that, you could cut a far far better deal.  Not happening. WYSIWYG

What I do with that is go back to what I do…. work in a  3 to 4-person business-project cell. Go where the money is and where you can do some good.  Your cell engages with others cells to buy or sell products and services. If you have something of value to offer others anywhere on the globe, others will respect that if you can deliver. You make $$$. This is one way to play in the global market right now.   Start small. Develop a reputation for being impeccable. That’s how to deal. Many people on the top hate bullshit and seek to work with honest partners. Deliver on everything you say.  If you screw up, immediately course-correct internally and with your clients. Start by apprenticing with someone you can truly learn from.  It’s up to us. That’s the challenge of not having leaders.  Leaders are in short supply.  Fake motherfuckers.  We do it.

IMHO, of course!
