Dave Chappelle Singing a Different Tune About Giving Trump a Chance: ‘I F—-d Up’
Dave Chappelle now admits he was wrong for telling Americans to give President Donald Trump a chance in November.
Chappelle, speaking at the Robin Hood benefit in New York City Monday, May 15, apologized for saying Trump should be given a chance in light of the progress the comic thought America was making last year. His comments were captured by NBC journalist Willie Geist, who attended the fundraiser by the organization, which is dedicated to ending poverty.
“I’m wishing Donald Trump luck,” Chappelle said during a monologue on “Saturday Night Live” soon after the election in November. “And I’m going to give him a chance. And we the historically disenfranchised demand that he give us one too.”
During his stand-up routine Monday, Chappelle also covered Trump’s five months in office, saying the businessman didn’t realize he would win.
