Casual Thoughts

I'm trying not to turn into a bitter & cynical person, but i feel myself slowing slipping into being that way. when you get burned time after time its hard to stay positive about people, relationships, friendships or life in general.

Lately i've been feeling a bit invisible. well really thats a pretty reoccuring feeling for me.
I know you didn't post this asking for a response, msprettygirl, but you know me. Wink

I agree, it's hard to say 'soft' when shit happens, especially serial-shit. However I don't think you could become a cynical and bitter person even if you tried. Smile

Maybe you're at a low point and need a big whallop of energy and hugs. hug kiss hug

If you're feeling invisible, you need to go buy a knock-dead look-at-me outfit (without busting your wage), and go out with girlfriends looking fabulous.

Now you're probably thinking that all sounds superficial... and in a way it is... but sometimes when energy is low, and 'you're' feeling low, the soul needs some nourishment, and whatever it takes.

I've 'been there' this week, mainly coz I've been overworking and felt totally physically fatigued, which plays havoc with my normally charming and wonderful persona! Big Grin Suddenly vague disappointments about things not going right or not having a Mr Right grow into ugly monsters that crowd your mind and make you miserable Frown or Mad

msprettygirl, make sure you're looking after your health, getting out and about, taking time to unwind and feed your soul, and loving and nurturing yourself.
When the soul feels starved, everything suffers. I took a day off, wandered about an art gallery, treated myself to a nice lunch and a glass of wine and went home and slept! I just needed a day to relax and a day to treat me. It helped. I still have things to do deal with and people I'd like to strangle, but it helped me get my 'balance' back and face things with more energy. Smile

A big HUG!! I hope this helps.
Thank you fireflySmile i do know you Smile yes i could use some energy and hugs!! sad My soul needing nourishment is a good way to put it actually. 19 I'm doing an ok job of looking after my health-I've been consciously trying to eat better, take vitamins, take time for myself to be by myself. I've been saying for the longest that i am going to treat myself to a spa treatment, full body massage and all-thats my goal for this month.

That is it EXACTLY bang
MSPretty...I know that feeling and it sucks! LOL...

I've just been trying to focus on all of the things that I am grateful for...that helps me stay positive. Just to breathe each day is enough for me; things could be so much worse on any given day and I've been trying to just enjoy my life.

Random vs. Casual.. I wondered the same thing.

Anyway... Yesterday, for the 2nd time in as many weeks, someone at work started off a conversation with, "Okay... Here's the situation." Both times, I thought to myself, "My parents went away, on a week's vay, cation."

It also has happened recently that someone (a friend; this did not happen at work) began a question to me with, "Do you remember..." I immediately cut them off and responded by uttering those "Dah! Sch-Dah!" noises that Michael Jackson makes in his song, "Remember the Time," after he sings, "Do you rememba?" at the beginning of each verse.

Both instances are examples of how pervasive music is to my mind... and they also make me wonder if I'm too silly sometimes for my own good.

If you do this consistantly you could be my friend any day. I would seek you out just so you could do it.

I have a friend who is 'silly' like this. She always brightens my mood, and I her's, because she brings the silliness out in me, we feed off of each other. Some of our friends say we should take our act on the road. I love her dearly. You and she are definately not too silly IMO.
Oshun, that's why I say if the world population started a blunt rotation,we'd all just sit n chill, laugh, eat, and nod our collective heads to good music. It'll be ONE PLANET UNDER A GROOVE,for real!!!You just happened to be naturally blessed with the traits other people need weed to have.

I've met quite a few people in the West Indies/Caribbean islands who live that lifestyle. - although they do smoke weed as well... and I never heard them complaining... they are as chilled as it's possible to BE! Big Grin

Well, maybe my brain chemistry is permanently altered from the puffung I used to do when I was young. I am from Cali, you know it's damn near legal there...LOL

What's the Difference between "Casual Thoughts" and "Random Thoughts"?

Has it been decided?

Oh and Vox... My favorite instance is when someone said to me "... man, what would we do without music?"... I responded with an emphatic and dramatic "I don't know, I don't know..." and they got it!!
what is it - that magic spark between two people.... that lights up the horizon, the eye and the mind, that sends a lightening bolt through your heart and electrifies your pulse... when you both know you share a common beat? At the edge of friendship... an enticing space... before anything else

lol I do this all the time Smile and in fact did this today! The person did not get it at all! They started out saying something with "And if I ever..." and I said "...ever fall, In love again I will be sure that the lady is a friend.." Cool
After work I stopped off at Toys R Us to purchase a Kimora Lee Simmons doll. A colleague at work loves her; and she collects dolls. Since she's retiring soon I thought it would be nice to get her the doll (her coworker agreed to split the cost with me).

Anyway, there were Hoola Hoops near the register. I've wanted to buy one for a while and at 5 bucks a pop, why not? Big Grin

It's like being 10 years old again. Now if only AARP would quit mailing me stuff. I'm not there yet.
I am about to buy another home. What keeps running through my mind is how I want to design a park for my child in the yard.

There is a park we frequent that has larger than life slides and swings hanging bars - all specifically so the parents can play on the equipment with their child(ren)...and I want to do this in our yard because I enjoy getting on the slides and stuff with him.

cabbage

The other thought running through my mind is the entire design scheme of the new house. I like comfort and large spaces...I want him to get lost in his room....LOL.

When he was smaller, I painted a dinosaur type theme...and currently, he has a race car theme, with license plates on the wall and all.... he loves his cars and his car bed. For the new house, he wants a spy theme.

hmmm....in search of more spy gadgets.

You know,

Last night at about 11PM or 11:15PM, while I was working, I had an OverWhelming urge to have a Mimosa. The urge was so strong, I could actually taste it in my mouth. Now here's the kicker: after I got the urge to have one, I immediately thought of this forum.

I am intuitive so that is of particular ImportAnce to me.

....and what is so funny to me, is this: I've never had a Mimosa in my life! I know what the drink consists of and I like all of the ingredients...

....but what is REALLY freaky to me is the fact that this particular drink is often presented to me when SomeThing SpiRitual is of extreme importance.

So I will ask the forum: Were any of you drinking a ReFreshing Mimosa about that time last night or did any of you have an 'Ah-ha!' moment?

LOL! OMG, Isistah, I've done the same thing!!! Oh, about 10/12 years ago.

I was so embarrased!! My mind had to really be on SomeThing else as I got dressed, because normally I pay really good attention to the entire process.

Y'all are scaring me!! Eek

In the last couple of years, I have taken to buying several pairs of shoes that are the same color, same type, same style with just a minor variation or two!

I better not come up with two different pairs of shoes soon just because y'all put it out there in the cosmos ... or I'm coming back to this tread and lookin' for BOTH y'all! karate Big Grin

SmileIf I had any Shoe Mojo, I wouldn't have 5 pairs that look just alike!
I have been grateful for the smallest of all things...in the past two days, I've had several instances of "perfect peace"...

These instances were very relaxing and quiet...and doing SomeThing even as simple as eating a small piece of cheese or just laying my head down and exhaling, has rendered complete relaxation....like being wrapped up and safe where one is.

Small moments like these are PriceLess.

I farted.

I'm not even lying. I'm being serious as a heart beat.

That fart you held in while on a date and you can't wait to get that girl out of your car.....

....You don't even want a kiss. Yeah, yeah, I'll call you later....good night....

She closes the door. You drive away--far enough away that if she happened to leave something in your car by mistake she'll just have to get it next go round.

AAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhh...

Damn. Felt so good to relieve that pressure you feel like a born again christian.

Good thing you're not a kid trying to get to and from school... lol

Fla. student suspended from bus for passing gas

LAKELAND, Fla.
— An eighth-grader was suspended from riding the school bus for three days after being accused of passing gas. The bus driver wrote on a misbehavior form that a 15-year-old teen passing gas on the bus Monday to make the other children laugh, creating a stench so bad that it was difficult to breathe. The bus driver handed the teen the suspension form the next day.

Polk County school officials said there's no rule against flatulence, but there are rules against causing a disturbance on the bus.

The teen said he wasn't the one passing gas.

Whether he did it or not, he might have gotten off easy. A 13-year-old student at a Stuart school was arrested in November after authorities said he broke wind in class.
