Black Minister Leaves Southern Baptist Convention Over Its Support of Trump, Alt-Right

In a scathing open letter published in The New York Times this week, an African-American minister announced his departure from the Southern Baptist Convention over the church’s reluctance to denounce white supremacy and its outward support of President Donald Trump.

Lawrence Ware, who serves as co-director of the Center for Africana Studies at Oklahoma State University and has been an ordained minister at the convention for nearly a decade, renounced his denomination Tuesday, July 17, noting that while it wasn’t an easy decision, it was a necessary one.

“As a Black scholar of race and a minister who’s committed to social justice, I can no longer be a part of an organization that is complicit in the disturbing rise of the so-called alt-right, whose members support the abhorrent policies of Donald Trump and whose troubling racial history and current actions reveal a deep commitment to white supremacy,” Ware wrote.

He explained that his decision was ultimately spurred by an event earlier this year whena prominent Black pastor from Arlington, Texas, introduced a resolution at the group’s annual convention denouncing the white supremacist and alt-right movements. Conference leaders initially refused to hear the resolution but later approved a revised version that excluded a denunciation of the “curse of Ham” theory and added details of all the “good” Southern Baptists have done for Black people and nonwhites.

Ware argued that the resolution should’ve been immediately adopted, but it wasn’t.

“A contingent of predominately white, old-guard members refused to take the resolution seriously, even while many Black and progressive clergy members advocated its adoption,” he wrote. “It wasn’t until chaos ensued that a reworded resolution vowing to ‘decry every form of racism, including alt-right white supremacy, as antithetical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ’ was adopted.”

Among other things, Ware highlighted the fact that over 70 percent of white evangelicals, many of whom are Southern Baptists, approve of President Trump’s job performance. He also touched on the church’s history of pro-slavery attitudes and its outward support of segregation during the civil rights movement.

Though the church issued a formal apology for its support of slavery in 1995, Ware insisted that enough still hasn’t been done to address the institution of white supremacy within the SBC. He then called out several churches for remaining “silent” about Trump and the rise of the alt-right while being “hostile” toward social justice movements like Black Lives Matter.

“I love the church, but I love Black people more,” Ware concluded. “Black lives matter to me. I am not confident that they matter to the Southern Baptist Convention.”

Kemetic / Egyptian Origin of Christianity

Gerald Massey's comparative list of Kemetic / Egyptian (pre-Christian) religious-philosophical data, Christianized in the Canonical Gospels and the Book of Revelation.

One questions that always arise is: "If Kemet / Egypt was so great what happened?" The question is brief yet the answer takes days, weeks and even years to answer. What happened to Kemet / Egypt was not an overnight event but was a process of destruction resulting from the Aryan (European and Arab) onslaught lasting more than three thousand (3,000 years) - from 1,500 BCE till 1,500 AD. The onslaught continues to this day with a militarily defeated population having to endure invading predators digging over and for remains (read treasures) of the Kemet / Egyptian ancestors. In addition, having to endure identity theft of epic proportions against absurd claims that Kemet civilization was of Aryan (European, Arab [Semitic]) origins. We now have the destroyers claiming to have created the very civilization they have, and continue, to destroy. What a horror story!

Ancient Egypt the Light of the World, Gerald MasseyEach succeeding group of invaders, beginning with the Martu (erroneously called Assyrians), appropriated not only the material spoils of Kemet society, but in addition, the intellectual and technological spoils as well. We are talking about barbarian invaders setting themselves up as rulers and forging their domains on the spoils of the invaded. The fabrication of Christianity is one such example of a domain created by barbarian invaders on the spoils and demise of those from whom the foundation of Christianity was taken.

A brief explanation is in order. African civilizations ranging from Kemet / Egypt in North Africa to Chou Civilization in Southern Asia (the area now called China) were invaded by Aryan predators (now called Europeans, Arabs, and Asians) beginning approximately 1,500 BCE (Before Common Era). With each civilization / society that was conquered the invaders used the spoils to fabricate societies of their own; the invaders of China created Jainism and Confucims; those in India created Brahmanism; those in Asia Minor created Zoroastrianism, and Judaism; and those invading Kemet created "Greek Philosophy", Christianity and Islam.

As a part of the process of domination each invading group claimed authorship of the knowledge base and technology they appropriated from their victims. Each one claimed what they fabricated to have no relationship whatsoever with the civilization / society of the invaded population. Christianity is espoused in this fashion.

That Christianity is but stolen Kemetic / Egyptian religious philosophy and spirituality, including its rituals and beliefs, reframed in an Aryan imageis the subject of the following presentation.

The author and scholar Gerald Massey, once a Christian Priest, who began investigating the questions that Christianity's origins posed for him found the trail leading to the civilization of Kemet / Egypt. As a consequence Massey became a student and investigator of Ancient Kemet / Egypt, subsequently revealed his findings in four major publications - Books of the Beginnings, (2 vols.), The Natural Genesis(2 vols.), Ancient Egypt the Light of the World (2 vols.) and The Lectures (1 vol.).

Massey over the course of twenty or so years presented facts proving Christianity was fabricated upon what was stolen from Kemet / Egypt; and that Christianity was in no respect original or from any god. The following excerpt from the appendix of Ancient Egypt the Light of the World is of the comparative list Massey compiled demonstrating that Christianity is a plagiarized fabrication from its Kemetic / Egyptian origins. The list is eight pages in length; however we are presenting only three of the eight pages. Hopefully you will acquire the publications of Gerald Massey and learn the truth about Kemet / Egypt and its impact on the fabrication of Christianity for yourself. Following the list is a short bibliography from which you can get more information.

If this Black minister had bothered to read and research his own history, and the TRUTH, he would know why he's a damn fool to beg acceptance from racists that belong to a religion that was plagerized from the philosophies, belief systems, and texts of his ancestors in the first place.

[I'm going to post something else that clarifies this FACT even more].

Real Origin of the Ten Commandments

By Dr. Kwame Nantambu
December 18, 2009

As the religious tradition of Christmas approaches, this article seeks to unlock the mystery behind the origin of the Euro-Christian Ten Commandments that Moses was supposed to have received from God on Mount Sinai.

The fact of the matter is that Moses was a Black-Afrikan man who was born in ancient Kemet (Egypt) during the reign of Pharoah Harembab (1340-1320 B.C.); he spent most of his life in Egypt and married an Ethiopian woman named Zipporah. They had two sons Gershon and Elieyer.

According to Dr. ben-Jochannan, Moses, who was born of the tribe of Levi, was miraculously saved by his sister Miriam while floating down the Nile River in a bulrush basket. He was put down the Nile by his mother because the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses I was killing all of the Hebrew males born throughout the kingdom.

The fact is that as a Highpriest during the reign of Pharaoh Akhneton (XXVth Dynasty, 1370-1352 B.C.), Moses was not only familiar and knowledgeable with the "42 Negative Confessions" but also with the 10 categories of sins that existed in ancient Kemet (Egypt). He was also familiar with the spiritual concept of Monotheism that Pharaoh Akhneton had introduced to the people. Basically then, when he reached eastern Egypt (Mount Sinai). Moses prayed to Amun-Ra, the Sun God of Ancient Egypt. It was very easy for Moses to establish a new religion for his people as a result of his spiritual education and training in Western Kemet (Egypt). Moses then collapsed the "42 Negative Confessions" into the "Ten Commandments" and he continued to embrace the concept of Monotheism. Moses used the concept of fire to receive the "Ten Commandments" because in ancient Kemet (Egypt) the spiritual God-force was represented by fire. In other words, the religion of the followers of Moses today is Afrikan in origin, including Christianity.

The reality is that there is NO such event as the "EXODUS". That's a mythical lie. The historical truism is provided by Dr. Yosef ben-Jochannan in his magnum opus titled African Origins of the Major Western Religions (1970) as follows:

It was only when Moses had to flee Pharaoh Ramses II's anger because he had murdered Ramses' representative-soldier-did Moses begin to plan the "EXODUS" of his fellow indigenous Egyptians of the Hebrew faith from Western to Eastern Egypt (from the Aswan end of the Nile River Delta to Mount Sinai) (p.153).

In Black Christian Nationalism : New Directions for the Black Church (1972), Dr. ben-Jochannan suggests that Ramses II supposedly "chased Moses all over the Egyptian desert to avenge his soldier (or guard) whom Moses killed." "Moses was charged with murder." (pp. 301-303). Moses was fleeing from the scene of his crime in Kemet (Egypt).

Moses was NOT freeing his people from the bondage of the tyrant Pharaoh Ramses II. He was attempting to free his people from the ensuing punishment that his crime would have precipitated. Moses committed a SIN.

In ancient Kemet (Egypt) at this time, the Jews, formerly called Hebrews (Haribus), had migrated from Asia as "a starving lot...(of) unfortunate nomads from Asia." "There is no evidence that those lowly Asian Jews had any formalized education of a standard in any way comparable with that which the indigenous Afrikans of Egypt had developed." "Nether is there any evidence that they had a set code of ethics and morals that were contrary, or in support, of those they met in the Afrikan land- Egypt." These Jews were only shepherds when they entered Egypt.

The Jews entered Egypt circa 1632 B.C. until their 'exodus' in 1232 B.C., during the reign of Ramses II, 1279- 1212 B.C. The Kemites (Egyptians) not only accepted their Asian brothers and sisters, the Haribus, as equals but also integrated them into every aspect of Egyptian society.

Prior to this accepted integration, these Jews "had not established a government anywhere, other than tribal groupings." In addition, the major pyramids had already been built by the Pharaoh Khufu, Khafra and Menkara at the Giza plateau - a period which expanded 2680-2258 B.C.

The fact of the matter is that the original "42 Declarations of Innocence" can be found in the sacred spiritual texts inscribed on the walls of the Temple of Unas in ancient Kemet. According to the Euro-Christian Holy Bible, Acts 7:22: "Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and deeds."

When the Egyptian Moses took these ancient Kemetic laws to the Barbarians, he had to change them because he was speaking to a people who were living in the caves and hills of Europe and who had not lived a spiritual way of life. As such, Moses had to transfer the original Kemetic text "I have not..." to "Thou shall not..." that is, into Commandments.

These are the original Afrikan-Kemetic spiritual:

"42 Declarations of Innocence"

"42 Admonitions of Ma'at"

"42 Negative Confessions"

  1. I have not done iniquity.
  2. I have not robbed with violence.
  3. I have not stolen.
  4. I have done no murder, I have done no harm.
  5. I have not defrauded offerings.
  6. I have not diminished obligations.
  7. I have not plundered the Netcher.
  8. I have not spoken lies.
  9. I have not snatched away food.
  10. I have not caused pain.
  11. I have not committed fornication.
  12. I have not caused shedding of tears.
  13. I have not dealt deceitfully.
  14. I have not transgressed.
  15. I have not acted guilefully.
  16. I have not laid wasted the ploughed land.
  17. I have not been an eavesdropper.
  18. I have not set my lips in motion (against any man).
  19. I have not been angry and wrathful except for a just cause.
  20. I have not defiled the wife of any man.
  21. I have not defiled the wife of any man. (repeated twice)
  22. I have not polluted myself.
  23. I have not caused terror.
  24. I have not transgressed. (repeated twice)
  25. I have not burned with rage.
  26. I have not stopped my ears against the words of Right and Truth (Ma'at)
  27. I have not worked grief.
  28. I have not acted with insolence.
  29. I have not stirred up strife.
  30. I have not judged hastily.
  31. I have not been an eavesdropper. (repeated twice)
  32. I have not multiplied words exceedingly.
  33. I have not done neither harm nor ill.
  34. I have never cursed the King.
  35. I have never fouled the water.
  36. I have not spoken scornfully.
  37. I have never cursed the Netcher.
  38. I have not stolen.
  39. I have not defrauded the offerings of the Netcher.
  40. I have not plundered the offerings of the blessed dead.
  41. I have not filched the food of the infant, neither have I sinned against the Netcher of my native town.
  42. I have not slaughtered with evil intent the cattle of the Netcher.

These "Negative Confessions" represent the FIRST moral code of ethics invented with which to live by 24-7-365. Afrikans invented these moral codes in the B.C. era. These were developed before there was the Christian Holy Bible or an Islamic Qur'an.

It took the ancient Afrikans fifty (50) generations or 1,200 years to develop these moral, spiritual codes.

The reason why there were "42 Negative Confessions" is because there were 42 "Nomes" or Districts in ancient Kemet at that time.

At that time also, there were ten (10) categories of sins. Thus, the categories of sins that Moses, the Afrikan, used as the basis to formulate the so-called "Ten Commandments" already existed. The ten categories of sins in ancient Kemet (Egypt) are as follows:

  1. "General sins against people"
  2. "Crimes against a person"
  3. "Crimes against the Gods"
  4. "Crimes against the King"
  5. "Crimes against the Dead"
  6. "Crimes against animals"
  7. "Crimes against Property"
  8. "Fraud"
  9. "Faults of morals and character" (I)
  10. "Faults of morals and character" (II)

As such, it did not take a genius in rocket science or advanced calculus to collapse 42 into 10 and that's precisely what the former Egyptian High priest Moses did. Nothing more; nothing less.

These are the Derived Euro-Christian religious

"Ten Commandments"

  1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (41)
  2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image...
  3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord they God in vain... (7, 37, 41)
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy...
  5. Honor thy father and mother. (1, 12, 28)
  6. Thou shalt not kill. (4)
  7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. (11, 20, 21)
  8. Thou shalt not steal. (2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 39, 40)
  9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. (8, 13, 18, 29)
  10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house or wife... (13, 20, 21, 29, 33)

Their derivative from the original ancient Kemetic "42 Negative Confessions" are shown at the end of each.

In other words, the modern-day Euro-Christian Ten Commandments did not come or were not received from God above; they are Afrikan-Kemetic in origin.

In this regard, it must be clearly understood that there is a vast difference between the original Afrikan spirituality and the derived Euro-Christian religion.

Spirituality is defined as the direct connection, relationship and interaction with the universe, cosmos, nature and that spiritual God-force, Amun-Ra_"the giver/creator of life." He is the spiritual God-force whose birthday was celebrated on 25 December in ancient times about 4,100 years before the birthday of Jesus "the Christ."

Religion is defined as the deification of a people's cultural experiences, politics and political power control intent.

And this is precisely why Moses had to change the "42 Negative Confessions" which represented a daily way of life and being into "Commandments" as a medium for power, force and control of his people's daily lives.

It must be stated quite categorically that in the B.C. era, Afrika was known as "the Land of the spiritual people". However, as a result of European supremacy, Afrika and Afrikans have been transformed globally into a "religious people" in the A.D. era to their powerless detriment. Afrikans have lost their original spirituality.

In the B.C. era, ALL the Gods were Black; now in the A.D. era, ALL the Gods are White. This represents European religious power-control supremacy at its zenith.

As such, in this new 21st century millennium, Afrikans on the Continent and the Diaspora including TnT must retrieve, recapture, relocate, reclaim, reconnect, reorient and re-enact their original spirituality 24-7-365 as the most potent weapon in their armory to survive and empower themselves.

  • Dr. Yosef A. A. ben-Jochannan joins the ancestors
After being bed-ridden and placed in a specialized care unit at the Bay Park Nursing Home for the past several weeks, legendary Kemetaphysician Dr. Yosef A.A. ben-Jochannan, a.k.a. Dr. Ben, transitioned on to the ancestral realm Thursday (March 19) at approximately 3:30 a.m. Those close to him said he had stopped eating and drinking several days earlier, as his metabolism slowly churned down.

Professor Yosef Ben Jochannan is an Egyptologist. Having taught at Cornell University for over 15 years, Dr. Ben, as he is affectionately known, has lectured widely on both sides of the Atlantic. His theme - the ancient civilizations of Egypt. His presentations have placed him in great demand by students and community groups, especially those of African descent. Perhaps the high regard he enjoys today stems from his long, unwavering theme that the ancient civilizations along the Nile were African.

Black man of the nile

We preached that the so-called major western religions were white folk's religions and offered the historically incorrect but universally accepted blond-haired, blue-eyed representation of Jesus Christ as proof that our enemy had become our deity. We quoted Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who said in his book, The Mis-education of the Negro, that the European destruction of African civilization was done under the guise of "saving souls." And we asked the rhetorical question, must one be dehumanized before one's soul is saved? In retrospect, we had allowed someone else to define our reality.

Yoruba priestess, Iyanla Vanzant says your soul is saved when you accept that the spirit of God lives in you. She specifically says, "When you can look at yourself, accept who and what you are and love yourself unconditionally, your soul is saved. Your spirit is empowered."

Dr. Ben's African Origins of the Major "Western Religions" was one of the vehicles I used on my journey through the empowerment of my spirit.

Ben Jochannan

"For more than five decades, Dr. Yosef ben-Jochannan, a master teacher, researcher, author, lecturer, has led what has now become a mass effort to emphasize African contributions to the world." African Origins of the Major "Western Religions: first published in 1970, continues to be one of Dr. Ben's most thought-provoking works. "By highlighting the African influences and roots of these religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), Dr. Ben reveals an untold history that many would prefer to forget."

His opening sentence sets the tone for the well-researched and documented work.

Dr. Ben says, "I shall show that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are as much African as they are Asian in origin, and in no sense what-so-ever European as the title, "Western Religions" suggests;" Dr. Ben's ultimate goal in this work is to show the definite links between exclusively indigenous traditional African learning systems with these so-called "Western Religions."

The first chapter is entitled: A Source of African Religions.

Dr. Ben shows how the "Mysteries of Egypt" were developed from the ancient religious rites of the indigenous Africans who once occupied the lands around the major great lakes of Central Africa and along the head-waters of the Nile River." And how the Mysteries of Egypt through the Egyptian Book of the Coming Forth by Day (Book of the Dead) gave rise to the so-called revealed religions.

Chapter 2, St. Augustine: African Influence in Christianity (The "Christian Church Fathers").

Dr. Ben says the death of St Augustine in 430 C.E. was the major event in Christendom's history which started the decline of power and control by the North African Church (the "Mother Church") In this chapter he discusses the influence St. Augustine and other indigenous Africans had on the development of the early Christian Church.

Chapter 3, Moses: African Influence on Judaism.

In the introduction, Dr. Ben has warned that, "to say at this time that Moses of the Hebrew (Jewish) religion and peoples, was an indigenous African (Black or Negro), would create a catastrophic consternation among theological racists ... This would not stop them from saying that "Moses was found floating down the Nile River in a bulrush basket." Dr. Ben says many people conveniently forget that the Nile River's source begins in Uganda. In this chapter, Dr. Ben also juxtaposes works from the Egyptian Book of the Dead with the Holy Bible and writings attributed to Solomon with those of Egyptian Pharaohs.

Chapter 4, Bilal: African Influence on Islam.

Hadzart Bilal ibn Rahab know simply as Bilal to most Muslims was a "tall and skinny, frizzled-hair indigenous Black man (African) of Ethiopia, East Africa." Bilal, a former slave in Arabia was the Holy Prophet's most ardent supporter and was responsible for the creation of much of what those of the Islamic faith believe about Heaven and also many of their original prayers and doctrines. Dr. Ben refers to Bilal as another Augustine with respect to his influence on the early development of Islam.

Chapter 5, King, Mohammed, Divine, Matthews and Garvey: Religious New Dimensions. Dr. Ben discusses the influence of Martin Luther King, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Father Divine, Rabbi Wentworth Matthews, and Marcus Garvey on the religious scene in America. He says that although most of them did not receive the "Good Negro Seal of Approval," from the allegedly white liberal middle-class community of the United States, their influence cannot be denied.

Conclusion:

Dr. Ben concludes that the term "Western Religions" "is a misnomer and is as racist as it sounds." "Western Religions" like "Greek Philosophy," cannot escape its indigenous African origin says Dr. Ben. His conclusion leads one back to his introduction where he poses what he calls the "first question:"

How much longer are we to remain outside of the religions we originated in our "Mysteries" in Egypt and other High-Cultures along the Nile?

The Black God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam

At the root of Judaism, Christianity and Islam is the worship of the Black God of antiquity. The differences that currently exist in these three religions are due to a gradual perversion of an ancient religious order that permeated the world beyond the ancient near east.

In the seminal book The Proto-Semitic Religion, Professor Werner Daum tries to reconstruct the religion of the Proto-Semites – the forbears of the Semites of today. He claims that circa 9,000 years ago an African people crossed over into Southern Arabia and formed the basis of the Proto-Semitic peoples and religions. He further makes the point that these Proto-Semites worshiped a God they called A-Lah.

This was 9,000 years ago – long before ancient Kemet, the Bible, Qur’an or any of the prophets known to us. It is clear that southern Arabia (Yemen), Ethiopia and Eritrea shared a common religion. Daum’s documents reveal that the Kingdoms of Saba (Biblical Sheba), D’mt and Aksum called their God LMQH, which past and current scholars conventionally pronounce as Al-Maqah or God of Maqah. All of this predates the Hebrew deity El. The God El is a linguistic mutation of the God A-lah or AL.

This is a poignant revelation in carefully and correctly situating Allah in Africa – a God who was both worshipped by Africans on the continent and equally so by those who had migrated out.

Julian Baldick, in his book The Black God: The Afroasiatic Roots of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim Religions, makes the convincing argument that just as there exists a common Afroasiatic language group there also exists a common Afroasiatic fountain of religion. He asserts that “the God of the Bible comes out of the original Semitic Black Rain-Deity.”

With this background, Jacques Cauvin’s book The Birth of the Gods and the Origin of Agriculture becomes not only interesting but increasingly significant. Cauvin traces the origins of the neolithic agricultural revolution to the emergence of a new religion in the Levant circa 12,000 years ago.

He argues that around that time a new religious order marked by a change in symbolism sparked the agricultural revolution that put an end to hunting and gathering and ushered in a sedentary way of life typical of agrarian societies.

Cauvin notices that around the same time the structures dedicated to God began to take on the shape of a square rather than a circle. These square structures became the forebears of the Ziggurats and pyramids of the ancient near east and other places.

One of the oldest Ziggurats known, of Mesopotamian origin, assumes the form of a step pyramid (with seven steps). Cauvin claims that the transition from round religious buildings to square buildings represented the transformation of God as a spiritual being to God as Man. This God was represented by a Black Bull with his goddess by his side.

This God was a Black Man. The worship of this Black Man–God was codified in a set of religious structures around which grew rituals that were to survive thousands of years, allowing them to be adhered to even today.

The Black Man-God formed the basis of what we today call Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

The Hebrews copied many of these ancient beliefs and incorporated them into their religious structures. The Tabernacle of Moses spoken of in the Old Testament (OT) in the Bible was based on this ancient belief in the incarnation of the spirit of God in human form.

In Hebrew, the tabernacle is called Mishkan, which translates as the dwelling or residence in the same way that the Ziggurat was also seen to be the dwelling place of God.

The Ziggurat was taken care of by the priest, the only one admitted into the shrine of the God at the top of the Ziggurat. It was supposed to be the residence or dwelling place of the God worshiped by the Israelites. The tabernacle was built after the square form that Prof. Cauvin talked about in his book. It was deemed to be the house of God.

This incarnation of God in Man is covertly spoken of in the book of Genesis, however its reality and its distinction have escaped the average Jew and Christian. Most people who read the Genesis creation account think it to be the formation of the first man separate and distinct from God himself.

However, scholars agree that the Genesis creation account is of priestly origin and was thus written in esoteric language–the meaning of which was only known to the priests and the initiated.

Thus the verse “let us make man in our image and after our likeness” is pregnant with esoteric meaning. First, most English translations of this verse are inaccurate. The precise reading should be: “Let us make man as our image and after our likeness.”

The Hebrew do not say ‘in’ our image (selem) but ‘as’ our image (selem). Still, the translation of selem as image doesn’t do the word justice. In a very important article published in the Journal of Northwest Semitic Languages, Prof. I. H. Eybers traces the S-L root of Hebrew words. Prof. Eybers states that the word selem is derived from the root s-l-m which means (1) cult statue and (2) black. Hence, Adam is the Black statue that would house the spirit or breath of God. Adam is thus the incarnation of God.

H. Wildberger writes in Das Abbild Gotten: “It cannot be stressed enough that Israel… by a daring adaptation of the image theology of the surrounding world, proclaims that a human being is the form in which God himself is present.” This is also confirmed by Andreas Schule in his book The Concepts of Divine Images in Genesis 1-3: “The Cultic image is… the medium of manifest divine presence and action in the world and as such part of the divine. It is to put it pointedly, god on earth.

The image was…. that side of the God’s person through which he entered the sphere of created life… the bodily appearance of a God, the very medium… through which he can be addressed by prayer, worship and sacrifice.”

It seems that this original divine incarnation of God in man (Adam) provided the basis for a later cult-statue worship that would permeate the ancient near east. The tabernacle of Moses was simply a copy of this religious concept of God’s divine spirit dwelling on earth as a man. While the Israelites partook of this ancient cult-statue reverence of the Black God, a similar religious activity occurred to the south of Israel in what is called Arabia.

In Arabia an ancient cult was built around a cube-like structure in Mecca (bakkah) that was dedicated to the ancient God called Allah. This cube was and is called the Ka’bah or the Al bayt Allah — the House of God. It is built like the tabernacle of Moses to represent the dwelling of God and is similarly covered with veils.

Contrary to the perception of the pedestrian Muslim, the Kabah and its associated rituals predate Prophet Muhammad by at least 1,000 years. In fact, before the prophet-hood of Muhammad he used to go on pilgrimages to the Kabah just as pre-Quranic Arabs did.

The Kabah was the religious structure dedicated to a God called Allah, similar to the God A-lah of the Proto-Semitic peoples who migrated to Arabia 9,000 years ago from Africa. This ancient God’s name was immortalized through rituals around the Kabah. It is this ancient God of the Black Proto-Semites that through time mutates into the El, Eloh and Elohim of the Old Testament. The Kabah houses a Black meteorite stone deemed to be part of the Deity’s astral body.

In the article “Origin And Significance of the Magen Dawid: A Comparative Study in the Ancient Religions of Jerusalem and Mecca” in the Quarterly Journal in African and Oriental Studies (Archi orientalni), Hildegard Lewy writes that “the black stone was thought to be part of the body of a great God.”

Cheikh Anta Diop describes the similarities between the Arab religion and the religion of ancient Kemet. He particularly notes that some Islamic rituals were named after certain ontological Kemetic words such as Ra, Ka and Ba. He states that: (1) KABAR means the raising of the arms in prayer in Islam, (2) RAKA is the action of placing the forehead on the ground during prayer in Islam and (3) KABA refers to the holy house of God in Mecca.

These similarities between Kemet and Islam become even more apparent when one considers the ontology of the Kemetic words KA, BA and KHAT: (1) KHAT means the immortal body of God, (2) KA means the mortal or physical body of God and (3) BA means the Breath or Spirit of God.

The fact that the Islamic Kabah refers to the physical body (KA) housing the spirit (Ba) of God is no mere coincidence. Does it mean that Islam is an ancient Egyptian religion? No, the data does not allow us to make such a claim. However, it confirms that Ma’at and Islam are cognate religions–children of a common parent religious order at the very least.

Diop also documents that the Kemetic priests fasted for thirty days each year just like in Islamic Ramadan. We are further told that at a certain Temple in Kemet a replica of the God Osiris was placed inside the Temple and the priests of Kemet would circumambulate the Temple in the same way that Muslims circumambulate the Kabah. More to this point, the records show that the Kemetic Priests performed this ritual exactly seven times – the number of times that Muslims do at the Kabah.

Serge Sauneron documents more similarities between Ma’at of ancient Kemet and Islam in his book The Priests of Ancient Egypt. He documents that the Priests of Ancient Egypt performed ablutions four times a day before prayer just like in Islam; although Muslims now pray five times a day, only four prayer times are mentioned in the Qur’an.

Like the Bible, the Qur’an also squares face to face with God’s incarnation as Adam. The Qur’an is however more direct and overt in its description of Adam’s creation by Allah. In Chapter 15:28 it states: “And when your Lord said to the angels: I am going to create a mortal of sounding clay, of Black mud fashioned into shape.”

Thus, in similar fashion as in the book of Genesis, the Adam spoken of here is of Black complexion. Muslims would argue that the Quranic Adam is simply a man and not God incarnate, but such a view becomes problematic in light of the order, which Allah gives the angels to bow down to Adam after God made him complete with His Spirit in Chapter 13:15: “Whoever is in the heavens and the earth makes obeisance to Allah ONLY, willingly or unwillingly…” Chapter 16:48-50 continues: “And don’t they observe anything created by Allah how it casts its shadow right and left, doing its obeisance to Allah ALONE?

Thus do all things express their humility to Allah. All the living creatures in the heavens and the earth and all the angels make obeisance in adoration of Allah ALONE…”

The above verses make it clear that ‘prostration’ or obeisance is due to Allah ALONE, so how come angels are asked to bow down to Adam if he wasn’t a God, or if he wasn’t God Himself?

To the east of Arabia another remarkable civilization developed in the Indus Valley of what is now India. It followed a religious order that would later have the Supreme God Vishnu incarnate in Krishna–a Sanskrit word that literally means Black or Dark. Is it a coincidence that yet another people harbored the belief that God incarnated in a Black man?

Wesley Muhammad, a professor of religion, documents that the Buddhists have a ritual called Pradakshina where they circumambulate a Stupa, which is a mount-like structure containing religious relics. The Buddhists inherited this practice from their Hindu forebears who engaged in this ritual in ancient times. Here again we find similarities between Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Ma’at – where adherents circumambulate a structure deemed to be the body of the Black God.

African Traditional Religions (ATRs) are connected to this ritual and belief of the Supreme Being’s incarnation in man. The shrines that are so common in numerous ATRs are an outgrowth of this concept of God dwelling among men and the need for the physicality of God on Earth in order for us, as humans, to interact with Him.

When African Traditional worshipers pray they direct their prayers to the God of the shrine, usually a family God. Certain items like stones, wood, figurines or jewelry would be used to represent the physical presence of the God.

This belief among our traditionalists emanates from the ancient religious order that one could only request help from a physical reality and not a vacuum or space. One had to direct one’s prayer to the physical representation of God.

Here, too, we find a similar practice in Islam called the qibla, or the direction of prayer. When Muslims pray they face in a direction toward the Kabah, the physical representation of God. Before prophet Muhammad conquered Mecca in 630 A.D, the Muslims faced Jerusalem toward the Temple of Solomon which represented the house of God. The Israelites prayed facing the tabernacle of Moses or the temple. Jewish people also pray facing the ‘wailing wall’ as one has to face a physical representation of the presence of God.

What we find in the ancient world is a universal adoration and belief system in a God incarnated in a Black man. White angels, Jesus and God are only recent inventions in line with the machinations of White supremacy.

"Orthodox" Christianity and the birth of
European Nationalism

<big>"By the time the fool has learnt the rules of the game, the players have all gone home"</big>. - African Proverb

For many of those who have studied slavery and colonialism it is well known that of all the institutions developed or exploited by European powers, religion was the most debilitating. The destruction of indigenous peoples' image of the Almighty did more to make them submissive to the will of the colonial powers than force of arms ever could. In the last two essays I attempted to throw light upon an aspect of Xianity that is almost completely overlooked by most devotees of the religion; the more esoteric meanings behind what is written in the scriptures. But there is still one other aspect of Xianity that needs to be looked at; an aspect which I believe is at the heart of Western European hegemony. That is the actual way in which the Christian religion has been used by the European to seize and maintain control societies and people.

The answer to the question of what effect Christianity had upon ancient and Medieval Europe is by no means as straightforward as it is made out to be by fundamentalists and apologists. Indeed the very question may be said to stem from a misconception that the influence was one-way - Europe, particularly ancient Europe being profoundly influenced by the tenets outlined in the bible [New Testament], the words first spoken to mortal man by Jesus of Nazareth. The truth is that the relationship enjoyed between Europe and Christianity [hereinafter referred to as orthodox or Western Christianity to distinguish it from the other forms of Christian and pre-Christian faiths that existed around the same time as the early Roman Church] can be summed up in one word, symbiosis. And even this was possible only after extensive "doctoring", editing and suppression of texts to suit the political needs of first the Roman Empire and later France, England, Spain, Portugal, etc. namely expansionism. The history of Christianity is the political history of Europe. With regard to the influence that Christianity has had upon ancient and medieval Europe [and ultimately the Americas] it is quite fair to say that the Church has left a legacy, a worldview that permeates every aspect of Western European-centred societies. Today, even though most Western societies can boast of a separation between Church and state, their very laws and cultural traits have been shaped in no small way by early ecclesiastical authorities. Actually, what the Church has done was to harmonise these cultural traits that have characterised European societies since primordial times.

We the "people of colour" have an amazing naivete with regard to religion particularly Christianity as defined by Western Europe. Most are familiar with the Christianity of faith. What is not so well known is its origin, the Christianity of history and how it impacted upon the faith; indeed there are many misconceptions about the faith and most people confuse the historic Christianity with the Christianity of faith. Many of the adherents who follow the faith for the sake of the "purest" aspects of the religion, believe, in their innocence that others do likewise. As such they staunchly defend a religion the origins and development of which they remain blissfully unaware. So much time is wasted arguing about which denomination is better or whether Creation or Evolution is true, or whether the Bible is the infallible Word of God. Little time is spared for carefully contemplating the extent to which religion has been used as a tool for exploitation and the lengths those who seek political and economic power would go and have already gone in the pursuit of such power. Indeed, due to our misreading of the bible and our love affair with Judaism and things Christian, very few even bother to challenge the implied right of Europeans to rule, so deeply have we internalised feelings of inferiority.

In examining the impact of Christianity upon ancient and Medieval Europe one thing is certain; the Church succeeded in uniting most of Europe. There is no doubt, as the fundamentalists argue, that Christianity has unified Western Europe in ways that transcended the narrow confines of tribalism. That it sought to include everyone through its message of a universal brotherhood. That it harnessed the warring tribes of Europe and in so doing unified the political, economic and social outlook of Western Europe by harnessing the various aspects of the continent's secular culture. However, there is another side to this story; one that is by no means as romanticised as it is often made out to be. Exactly how the Christian Church went about unifying and transforming Europe, if one looks at it honestly, is shameful to say the least. Christianity, as defined by Rome, Greece and to some extent Asia Minor, brought religious intolerance to a level never before seen. It provided justification for the taking of other people's lands by cleverly disguising ethnocentrism and an expansionist ideology in a message of universal brotherhood. Ironically it used this universal brotherhood message to maintain a hierarchical structure that saw Europe and European-centred societies at the pinnacle while the conquered lands and peoples occupied the lower rungs. It introduced chattel slavery and rape in places where such things did not exist before, wanton destruction and contempt for the environment notwithstanding its exhortations to the contrary. It reinvigorated old gender prejudices and superstitions thereby transforming Europe and Western influenced societies into neurotic, male-dominant, sexually repressed societies. In its rise to ascendancy orthodox Christian bishops forged biblical texts - such as the passages following Mark Chap16: 8 - in order to create the myth of an historical death and resurrection. It is this myth of an historical, fleshly death and resurrection of Jesus and his "appointment" of his disciple Peter that lies at the foundation of European expansionist ideologies and their perception of a divine right, a manifest destiny.

This, along with the "succession" initiated by Peter's "appointment", carried immense political weight and served as the basis for the Church's involvement in and manipulation of the political affairs of Europe. Popes crowned earthly monarch yet accounted to none; in fact the European concept of the divine right of kings, though pre-dating Christianity, was reinforced to a large extent by the Church's arrogating unto itself the power to create monarchs. Ecclesiastical law was held superior to secular law and in many cases served as the basis for these laws.

To understand this symbiotic relationship and how Europe has become what it has become, one must first understand the first three centuries of the Christian era. Most people have been encouraged to believe that Christianity sprang up as a fully developed New Order ordained by Jesus the Christ, Son of God, in the midst of a world wracked by sin. Some of them further believe that the religion has changed little from its beginnings some 2000 years ago. This romanticised view has little foundation in historical fact. The Gospels are by no means cohesive, eyewitness accounts; they are in fact extremely unreliable as historical documents. They are devoid of the historical detail that makes, for instance, Josephus' works so valuable. They give little or no indication of the turbulent political climate in Palestine and Rome at that time, the daily cruelties that resulted in thousands of crucifixions and not just one. The Book of Acts fares no better either and apart from the Letters of Paul [those that are not forgeries] it is almost impossible to extricate historical fact from romantic myth.

Now there are some religious systems that are largely the same way today as when they were conceived - specific schools of Buddhism and Islam, for example. However, the concepts, doctrines, myths and rituals of Christianity did not develop in one singular spontaneous upsurge. In fact, for the first two hundred odd years of the Christian era [CE], there were numerous "Christian" denominations, each with their own spiritual beliefs and Gospels, and each at war with the other groups over the question of these doctrines and their authenticity. For example, during these first three centuries certain Mandaean and Johannite sects, especially in the region of the Tigris-Euphrates basin, honoured John, and not Jesus as the messiah. Indeed, one of these sects still exists. For them, John was the "true prophet", while Jesus was "a rebel, a heretic, who led men astray, betrayed secret doctrines". To further compound the issue, the Romans destroyed the Temple of Jerusalem in 70 CE in retaliation for attacks by Jewish nationalists. This meant that many important documents and sacred Jewish writings were either destroyed or disappeared. The major difference we find between contemporary denominations and those of the first two centuries is that today's denominations, whether Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterians, Catholic, Seventh Day Adventists, etc, all regard the New Testament as authoritative. All of the faiths that arose out of the Reformation remained within the framework of orthodoxy.

Contrary to another popular myth, the first Christian Church was not established in Rome or anywhere in Europe. The first Christian nation was in Ethiopia [Cush]; this is "confirmed" in the book of Acts 8: 26-40. Those who insist that the early Church was founded in Rome [or Armenia] often dispute this. The argument against an Ethiopian beginning is often augmented by the fact that most religious scholars and theologians agree that neither Acts nor the Gospels can be relied upon for historical accuracy, having been written over sixty years after the events they describe supposedly took place.

However, the facts show that prior to Constantine's ascension to the throne in 312 CE, Christianity was not openly practiced in Rome. The Roman Christians were being persecuted because of their repeated attempts to subvert the social order [and NOT because of their religious beliefs as is so often said] and were forced to worship secretly in the catacombs [underground cemeteries] found under many ancient Roman cities.

But the Church was already flourishing in northeast Africa. Apart from Ethiopia, a Christian monastery was established in Kemet/Egypt in the 1st century CE by an African bishop named Pantaenus on the island of Phillae on the Nile. This monastery had seven Patriarchs, the equivalent of popes, and twenty-seven bishops.

Even monasticism originated in Egypt; another African, Anthony, called "the hermit of the Sahara", because he withdrew to that area to meditate in a life of poverty, became the first of the order of monks and nuns who lived the monastic life of seclusion. Note, however, that Anthony himself was only carrying on a tradition practiced by the priests and priestesses of the ancient Kemitic/Egyptian educational and spiritual system called the Mystery System. This was a highly complex, secret spiritual and philosophical order stretching back well over 4500 years BCE

The capital of Christendom up until Constantine's time was Alexandria, Egypt. Its bishops were instrumental in creating the organisational structure of the Church. Egypt and Ethiopia were securely Christian before Greece or Rome. Even later on such Africans as Augustine of Numidia, Cyprian, bishop of Carthage and Tertullian also of Carthage heavily influenced Christianity. There was also Bishop Origen and at least three Africans who became popes of Rome; St. Victor I [189-199] who is responsible for Easter being celebrated on a Sunday; St. Galasius I [492-496] and St. Miltiades [311-314].

However, it was Constantine who paved the way for Roman Christian domination. Scholars believe that his reign represented the turning point in Europe's history. One can say then that the starting point of this European manufactured myth begins with this historical figure. According to the general outline of the popular story Constantine became emperor after defeating his main rival Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge. He was said to have been inspired by a vision in the sky - later reinforced by a prophetic dream - of a luminous cross and an inscription which read "In Hoc Signo Vinces" [by this sign, conquer]. He then had emblazoned upon the shields of his soldiers, the Greek letters chi and rho, the first two letters of the word "Christos" and this resulted in his victory in battle and over paganism. Upon his ascension to the throne, he forbade all persecution of Christians, became a Christian and adopted Christianity as the state religion of Rome. Later, by virtue of a document that was "uncovered" in the 8th century, he was believed to have conferred upon the Pope some of his own secular power. The document was called the "Donation of Constantine".

That's pretty much the legend, and of course, the truth tells us a much different tale. Constantine did defeat Maxentius at Milvian Bridge, he did ascend the throne in the year 312 and during his reign Christian persecution was halted - sort of. But he had no mystical vision at all: the chi rho monogram can be traced back to Ancient Egypt via such "pagan" cultures as Pompeii centuries before the Xian Era. Further, his Edict of Milan of 313 forbade persecution of all forms of monotheism including Christianity - in other words his law was not drafted specifically for Christian benefit. Also, Constantine was neither converted to Xianity nor did he adopt Xianity as the state religion of Rome during his reign. Sol Invictus, a form of sun veneration, was the predominant religion in Rome and Constantine himself functioned as a Sol Invictus high priest, and he was never "converted" to Xianity until he lay upon his deathbed [and it appears that that happened because he was too feeble to protest]. As for the "Donation" in which he purportedly gave to Pope Sylvester, " …the city of Rome and all the provinces, districts, and cities of Italy and the Western regions….", and by which the Church asserted its prerogative to crown kings and assume temporal authority, this was nothing but a forgery. Ironically, the Church refused to relinquish all land and treasures acquired through this deception.

He halted the persecution of Christians - for strategic and political reasons only; this had nothing to do with seeing any "divine light", he needed support in order to consolidate his position on the throne. He allowed high Church dignitaries to become part of the civil administration. He donated the Lateran Palace to the bishop of Rome, which was then used as a means of establishing supremacy over rival centres of Christian authority in Alexandria and Antioch. In fact, much of what came to define Orthodox/Western Christianity was shaped by Bishop Eusebius who was Constantine's personal confidant. He presided over the Council of Nicea [325 CE]. At this council, the various warring Christian factions were forced to confront each other and attempt to reconcile their differences. Again, this was done out of political expediency; Constantine was seeking political and ecclesiastical unity so that Rome would be easier to manage; the many religions flourishing in Rome were too tribal and/or ethnic in their outlook to facilitate his expansionist aspirations. Christianity, with some doctoring, fit the bill. Indeed, Christianity as we know it today was to a great extent shaped in this ecumenical council. Jesus' divinity and the nature of his divinity were decided by a vote at this council. At Nicea Eusebius and other like-minded bishops vigorously implemented the reorganisation programme, selectively collecting documents and credos that suited their fancy and imposed them upon the Christian world. After this council any deviation from their "orthodoxy" was not viewed as a mere difference of opinion or misinterpretation, but an outright heresy. It was also at this council that Rome became, or more correctly, usurped, the official centre of Christian orthodoxy. The atmosphere of religious tolerance and diversity that typified Rome and its dominions was slowly being eroded because Christian authorities understood that such diversity posed a challenge to their political aspirations. One of the first "casualties" was the Nazarean form of teachings espoused by the Jesus figure and his disciples, which was not to become a new religion but was to adhere to Judaic Law. This was supplanted with Pauline thought. Thus, in the cruellest of ironies, the faiths that were much closer to the truth were now spurned as heretical and the denomination whose origins are nothing short of scandalous became - and remains - the "orthodoxy".

Note: as previously mentioned, up until Constantine's death in 334 Christianity was NOT the official state religion of Rome; Sol Invictus, which originated in Syria, was. Constantine himself functioned as a Sol Invictus chief priest and though he tolerated Christianity, he was not baptised until he was on his deathbed. But Roman Christian doctrine was similar to Sol Invictus anyway, as well as the Egyptian Osirian Drama and Mithraism, a survival of the ancient Persian Zoroastrian religion, which was also imported by Rome. By adopting the traditions of these belief systems, it became much easier to win over "pagan" devotees and Roman Christianity became increasingly secure politically and ecclesiastically in the Roman Empire, which by this time was virtually a "superpower". Also, by adopting these traditions Western Christianity gradually moved away from it's Judaic origins. Indeed, to ensure its survival and that it would remain in Rome's good graces "Orthodox" Xian writers set about changing and creating scriptural texts that shifted blame from the Romans to the Jews for the destruction of their Temple, their colonisation and the death of their messianic figure [contrary to popular belief the Jews lost everything not because they opposed the messiah or the concept of a messiah, but because they were so uncompromisingly messianic]. To this end we have the absurd passage [Matt 27:25] of a whole Jewish crowd saying to Pilate "[let] his blood be on us and our children"; something no crowd of Jews ever did. Further, the whole image we have of Jesus being condemned to death for his claims to being the messiah must be read in this context. Historically, crucifixion was a capital punishment reserved by the Romans for crimes against the state - i.e. treason - the Jews did not have the authority to crucify anyone and if the crimes were of a religious nature, the Jesus figure would certainly have been put to death for blasphemy by the Jews themselves - by stoning - with no need for the Romans.

The Council of Sardica [343-344C.E.] declared that "Rome is the see [unit] of Peter, to which all bishops must refer". This effective step toward centralisation was important not for granting a new right on Rome, but for reserving this right for Rome alone. In the 4th century the Eastern Orthodox bishops who had split with the West, consulted Rome only on very important matters. Alexandria, which had been the most ecumenical and tolerant city in the whole of the Roman Empire, became a haven for Jews. It also became a haven for Nazarean thought; it is said that Nazarean teachings greatly influenced the development of Egyptian Christianity - after all, it was in Egypt, Nag Hammadi, to be exact, where the Gospel of Thomas and other Gnostic Thomasine or Nazarean scrolls were found. Even so esteemed a Church Father as Clement of Alexandria was, in many respects, closer to Nazarean doctrine than he was to the Pauline orthodoxy of Rome. Egypt also served as repositories for the so-called "heresies" such as the Arian "heresy", which was one of the main issues of the Nicene Conference.

Nevertheless, by the 5th century Rome was further strengthening its position as the Universal [catholic] Church. Popes maintained that all Christians and not only bishops had the right to appeal to the bishop of Rome. Needless to say, this was stoutly resisted by the Churches of Egypt, Ethiopia, Syria, Ireland and many other aforementioned sects, a schism that in some cases was to last up until the present.

With the fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christian Europe the continent began to slip into the Dark Ages in which all learning not approved by the Church was anathematised and suppressed. Books and libraries were closed, converted or burnt to the ground. In Alexandria, Egypt, African books containing centuries of knowledge on medicine, geography, navigation, astronomy, sacred science, etc were destroyed in orgies of violence. In other parts of Christian dominated Europe ancient academies were closed and such subjects as grammar, Latin and advanced mathematics were banned. Bathing and personal cleanliness were considered sinful and all forms of sensual pleasure were forbidden and regarded with what can only be described as maniacal fear. This was partly because such things were closely connected to ancient beliefs venerating the concept of the Divine Mother in addition to the accompanying male deity. The Church Fathers condemned marriages and it was considered sinful and the Church refused to participate in any until the 9th century. Sex was deemed sinful, nasty and even when it was finally tolerated [for the purpose of the producing a male child] there were strict regulations controlling when a married couple could engage in intercourse. Clement of Alexandria, influenced to some extent by Levite Judaism, disapproved of oral intercourse, intercourse with a pregnant, menstruating, menopausal or barren wife, in the morning, in the daytime and after dinner. The act itself was not to be enjoyed by either party or else it would be deemed lustful [The word "lust" in old Germanic language actually meant "religious joy"]. The effects of this kind of schizophrenia was so profound that tables in the late 19th century Victorian England had their legs covered lest it aroused a man's passionate feelings.

"Pagan" beliefs, particularly those of Persia, India and Egypt, which was the main rival, was on the one hand outlawed but on the other hand co-opted into Christian worship. African and Persian myths and festivals commemorating the change in the seasons or the growth of crops were spliced into Christianity since the very dawn of its existence. By the fall of the Roman Empire temples dedicated to the African Divine Mother Auset/Isis were converted to Christian temples along with the worship of the Madonna and Child. All this made it easier to convert pagan devotees into Christians. Since the Church was now controlling all books and centres of learning, history was rewritten to become a verification of Christian beliefs. In Europe time reckoning was hinged upon the supposed date of Jesus' birth.

As the Church's influence and authority increased so did their corruption. Murder, bribery, fornication, simony, pedophilia, forgery, larceny and the like became all but institutionalised by the Vatican. The Church along with some rich influential Jews in the royal courts who had "converted" to Christianity [conversos or Marranos], in a macabre business deal with the Arabs acquired spices and other exotic items from Asia Minor in exchange for humans and furs [in that order]. These humans were the "pagan" Slavic people of Central and Eastern Europe and it was from the exploitation of these people that we have the word "slave". Life for common Xian people of Europe was no easier as the Church and European monarchs exploited and enslaved their people [it's euphemistically called serfdom] through physical, financial and sexual exploitation. By the end of the 9th century the popularity and authority of the Church was being questioned. Things may not have gone well for the Church were it not for a very timely distraction that also made the expansionist ideology enter a new phase, the Crusades. This series of "holy" military campaigns spanned a period from 1095 to 1291 ended in humiliation for the Church but it did in its own way open European eyes to the world to the south. It also helped undermine the status of the Church and the lords in the eyes of the common people. By the end of the traumatic Black Death plague which swept Europe and wiped out over one-third of its population Europe had for the most part lost sentimental attachment with itself and the Church looking for a new avenue to vent pent up frustrations.

It found it in the Jews and especially the Moorish population: the African and Arab Muslims who invaded and settled in Europe especially Spain, Portugal and parts of France. These same African and Arab Muslims whose relatives had soundly defeated the Crusaders had preserved centuries of ancient knowledge and taught these subjects in Europe. Were it not for the Moors, Europe may never have recovered such knowledge. By the 1400's, weakened by infighting Islamic Europe was beginning to lose control. At the same time Christian Europe was beginning to rediscover itself and was slowly coming together to fight the "infidel". Augmented by the libraries and documents assembled by Prince Henry the so-called Navigator [there's no evidence that he actually was a sailor], Christian Europe began to recover some semblance of higher learning. Maps and charts, redrawn from ancient African and Arab source maps as well as from information provided by Jewish gold dealers who had been trading with states in the Sudan and inner West Africa, Europeans began going back to sea. By 1483, the last Moorish stronghold capitulated to the forces of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, paving the way for the Columbus expedition - itself a myth that should be addressed [see the letter on Columbus ]

Scholars argue that the Church's stranglehold really became loosened with the advent of the printing press and the rise of Protestantism. However, while this did indeed erode the authority of the Roman church, it must be remembered that the Reformers were not seeking to start a new religion. They were simply trying to curb the excesses and corruption of the Church and, finding it impossible to do so, branched out on their own. For many of them their outlook still remained Catholic and others, such as Calvin, were trying to create a society that lived in strict accordance to the tenets of the bible - the assumption here was that Christianity was a "book" religion, failing to consider that Christianity was also defined by extra-biblical traditions. Scholars such as Max Weber, argue that this was intimately connected with the rise of capitalism. John Calvin's ascetic Protestantism taught that there was a specific number already chosen by God to live in heaven. These persons were chosen even before they were born; and those who were not fortunate enough just could not get a place no matter how well behaved they were on earth. For him, humans were inherently sinful, depraved by original and actual sin. He stressed discipline - which he enforced to the point of despotism, unconditional obedience to God's will and ethical deeds. Unlike Luther who preached justification by faith and forgiveness of sins, Calvin's aim was not salvation; it was to glorify God. His philosophies influenced the expansionist ideologies of Europe in no small way. His views and methods of enforcing discipline also inspired the French Huguenots, the Scottish Presbyterians, the English Puritans, the Baptists and such individuals as John Knox and Theodore Beza.

The Europe that came out of the Dark and Middle Ages was a Europe that was deficient in land, people and especially resources. It solved the land and people problem by taking other people's land and enslaving and/or exterminating them. The Protestant ethic spurred European powers to create and maintain a system of slavery and colonisation that would ensure that the economies of Europe [and later the United States] would be fuelled by the enforced labour of enslaved and colonised peoples. To ease their consciences for their orgies of extermination and enslavement, they, with great assistance from the Church - Catholic and Protestant, created a rationale that convinced them that they were dealing with "uncivilised" people who were "savages, steeped in idolatry, who sacrifice human beings, eat human flesh and deal with the devil". An examination of the diaries and other historical documents written by European missionaries, merchants and soldiers show that this pretext was used time and again in the Americas, Africa and Asia.

It is an argument that is still used today except that "civilisation" and "Christianity" have been switched to "democracy", "free trade", "Globalisation", etc.

This is not meant to be an indictment of many individuals who are genuine in their beliefs. However, they in their innocence remain unaware of the circumstances surrounding the origin and development of their faith and the role it played in the enslavement and colonising of peoples, the shaping of an ideology that was the foundation for Western racism. It employed physical and psychological violence to validate the faith. By scrutinising the hidden history of Western Christianity and the pre-Judaic/Christian world, one could have a better understanding of what must be done to reverse the effects of this strange disease.

It's symbolic. It has profound symbolic meaning. God asked Satan to bow down to his creation, humankind. Satan refused and was tossed from heaven by God. The meaning is that when we do not mutually respect one another and all the God-created human races, then we are being Satan. That is against Divine law, Divine command.  Racists follow the example of hellish Satan. Satanic examples are the KKK, Stormfront, etc.  They are with Satan.

IMHO, of course!

Which is just another example of why the "three major religions" are no more than altered, corrupted, plagerized and misinterpreted  spiritual philosophies and virtues, stolen from ancient Africa/Kemet and turned into political TOOLS by MALE-CHAUVANIST MURDER CULTS for the few to herdcontrol and dominate the masses.
