There is and has never been anything wrong with soul food/African-American food. It really bothers me when people who don't know what the cuisine is talk about it as if they are experts and the only thing soulful they've eaten is fried chicken from KFC.

This and the "New Food Pyramid" is exactly what Soul Food was.  It was never the "Soul Food", it was African Americans walking away from "Soul Food" home-cooked meals for "Fast Food" and Pre-packaged foods.
